XRHealth will launch its first virtual reality (VR) telehealth clinic in eight states and the District of Columbia on March 1. The new technology will bring VR therapy into patients' homes by combining telehealth support, therapeutic software, and a VR headset to deliver remote rehab services. Patients will be able to use the service for such conditions as stroke rehabilitation, chronic pain, hot flashes, and anxiety relief. Patients will be given an assessment by an XRHealth telehealth clinician. After this assessment, the patient will get a VR headset in the mail followed by virtual training. During training, the XRHealth pros will be able to remotely control what's shown on the patient's VR headset and adjust the therapy accordingly. The patient will eventually be able to use the headset independently, with his/her data continuing to be collected for the clinician to monitor. This new service is covered by Medicare and most major insurers.
