Inadequate Pre-op Assessments Heighten Malpractice Risk

A recent study of malpractice claims against anesthesiologists has found that inadequacies in pre-operation assessments are most likely to result in risky surgeries where these professionals may be responsible for injury and even death. The survey was conducted by The Doctors Company, a physician-owned medical malpractice insurer. It is actually an update of previous research published in the Journal of Healthcare Risk Management that focused on medical malpractice claims filed.
